Angler Fish
The abandoned and burned ship represents the aftermath of that ill-fated journey and the consequences of Magellan’s attempt to conquer Mactan, Cebu. The anglerfish’s light signifies false hope or a temporary victory, only for a greater monster from the dark to emerge and pursue us. Truly, it marks the start of a dark age for the Philippines.
